Pilates is a unique body conditioning method that includes lengthening,
strengthening & stretching exercises developed by Joseph H. Pilates over 90
years ago. Stott Pilates is a more up-to-date (rather than traditional) method
that focuses more on good alignment and proper form. It was developed to create a healthy life, body & mind.
With Pilates Matwork you work the body as
an integrated whole; rather than isolating certain muscles. Pilates Matwork
teaches us that our own body can be used efficiently to achieve physical fitness
without any other equipment or tools. Added tools will enhance the results and gives
variety to the workout.

Pilates mat exercises are practiced on a mat with bare feet in standing,
kneeling, sitting, on hands & knees, and lying down on your belly/back/side.
Exercises move the spine in all its natural motions (forward, backwards,
sideways and twisting). Pilates aims to build strength in and around the core,
from the inside, out. Some exercises create strength & stability, some
increase flexibility, and others are to relax. |
| The
Pilates Reformer takes many of the mat exercises (and more) to a
piece of equipment originally designed by Joseph H. Pilates. This
form of Pilates uses cables and a spring loaded moving bench to enhance
your workout. It even has a mini trampoline or jumpboard to achieve
cardiovascular work as well. This machine accommodates all fitness
levels and all ages and body sizes. It enhances muscle tone, adds
strength, creates grace and harmony and increases flexibility. |

V2-Max plus Reformer

Offers range of motion and functional work as well as new
programming. It has a retractable rope system and a vertical frame
with adjustable rope pulleys and spring hooks which allow movement in
horizontal and vertical planes. Great for working with regular and
special populations as well as athletic conditioning. |
